Welcoming Spring of 2024

Hello, friends! We hope that the winter has treated everyone nicely. We are ready for spring and the warmer weather and colors that it will bring.

We will be opening for the season at the beginning of April. We’ll begin adding plants to our webstore on April 1st, with appointments opening up for order pickups shortly thereafter. As in years past, our woody tree and shrub inventory will be well stocked at the start of the season, but herbaceous perennials will be more limited, with additional plant species being added as the season progresses. We’ve added some new components to the website for this upcoming season which we hope will be helpful; an FAQ page with answers to some of the most frequently asked questions we receive, a Product List Page, and an “Anticipated Availability” attribute for our plant species.

On the FAQ page, we’ve listed some of the most common questions we get, along with answers to those questions which include links to the appropriate parts of our website, and a few pictures that may help you find some of the mentioned information. If you have a question for us, we’re always happy to answer as quickly as we’re able, but check the FAQ first to see if the information is there for a quicker answer.

The product list page displays all of our products/plants in a list format, versus the normal webstore format. The product list page has all the same filters you’ll find in our webstore, and a few helpful columns in the table, like product type, preferred light exposure, soil moisture requirements, price, quantity available, anticipated availability (see explanation about this below), and allows you to add products to your cart right from the product list. We’re hoping that the product list will be helpful for people who are looking for a quicker way to peruse what products we have in stock, and when they are likely to be available, if they aren’t currently in stock.

In an effort to get information about when plants will be ready to you more quickly and in a more transparent fashion, we’ve added an additional attribute to our plant species profiles in the webstore, “anticipated availability”. The “anticipated availability” for each species can be found on each plant profile on our webstore, along with other plant attributes under the part that says “Additional information”, and also as a column in our product list page (see photos below). In addition to viewing the anticipated availability that is displayed on the plant webstore profile or on our product list page, we have a filter available on both locations that can filter products based on their “anticipated availability” status. The timing of plant availability is subject to change, as there are many variables that impact plant readiness.

Here you can see the anticipated availability for a plant species under the “Additional Information” on the plant’s webstore profile.
The Anticipated Availability is also available among our many filters in the webstore.
Finally, here you can see the anticipated availability in the far right column of our product list page, and available among the filters at the top of the page.
